A warm Scouting greeting to all Eagle brothers and sisters! It was indeed a proud moment for the ESOP Gensan Chapter for having successfully persuaded the GSC BSP Council in holding the 1st (ever) Advancement Seminar Workshop yesterday 08 August 2015 in South Central Elementary School

Philippine Independence Day: Commemorating its 117th Anniversary
Yes it is the 117th Philippine Independence Day – do we really know and understand why the nation is commemorating it? Or we are just following the trend – so that we can make selfies with whatever related things or places put hashtags and post them in the social media.
June 12, 2015 – Marks the nation’s 117th Independence Day.
Dating back one hundred and seventeen years of celebrating; it all started in the caves of Pamitiran, Montalban, Rizal on 12 April of 1895 where Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Jacinto, Restituto Javier, Guillermo Masangkay, Aurelio Tolentino, Faustino Manalak, Pedro Zabala and other revolutionaries initiated to have new members of Katipunan. To which, Bonifacio wrote Viva La Independencia Filipina on the walls of the cave – this is to express the goals of the secret society. Bonifacio then led the Cry of Pugad Lawin which signaled the beginning of the Philippine Revolution – and it was 1896.
How did we ever earn the World Brotherhood badge if there are unsolved or even worsening problems in our very own units, groups and from various councils. How can we build brotherhood with others when we do not even have it in our own units, groups and councils?
In the years that passed after I started to serve in our organization, I have witnessed atrocious acts in the scouting community – from a far I have observed the make pretend that our organization is doing; making the youth believe that our organization is running good or even better; by all means of looking closer – we are pretending that we are unified, when after all there are exchange of rants and bashes that flies all over the internet. These events make me wonder, how did we ever earn the World Brotherhood badge if there are unsolved or even worsening problems in our very own units, groups and from various councils. How can we build brotherhood with others when we do not even have it in our own units, groups and councils?
